With the Financial Support of E.ON Russia, Five University Laboratories at the Polytechnic Institute of the SFU Were Fitted out with Modern Equipment

With the support of E.ON Russia, five university laboratories at the Polytechnic Institute of the Siberian Federal University were fitted out with modern equipment to train students in Heat Engineering and Heat Technology.

E.ON Russia made a commitment to reequip the laboratory at the Chair for Thermal Power Plants of the Polytechnic Institute of the SFU in 2014. It was documented in the Agreement on Strategic Partnership in Training of Technical Engineers for TPPs signed by the parties at the XI Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum. The purpose of the Agreement is improving efficiency of training specialists for working at power plants of E.ON Russia.

Over the past two years, E.ON Russia Berezovskaya GRES has allocated RUB 5 million for creation of a training room to master operation of modern condensing power units and fitting out new laboratories to study auxiliary thermal power equipment, water treatment processes, gas analysis and fuel technology.

Besides, power engineers have helped the faculty and students of the Chair for Thermal Power Plants to assemble a training simulator of a pulverised coal-fired boiler П-67 used at 800 MW power units of Berezovskaya GRES, and to purchase laboratory equipment for teaching students of the profile power engineering programs of E.ON Russia the basics of heat engineering.

Today, a training complex consisting of five laboratories is fully equipped and ready for practical use. “Thanks to cooperation with E.ON Russia Berezovskaya GRES, we have an opportunity to train students on modern equipment that is currently used at power plants,” Eugene Boiko, Director of the Polytechnic Institute of the SFU says. “It is very important to train young engineers with maximum reliance on the real production conditions and the future place of work.”

Based on the Agreement on Strategic Partnership in Training of Technical Engineers for TPPs of E.ON Russia, the Polytechnic Institute of the SFU and E.ON Russia continue joining their efforts in bringing educational programs closer to the real production, enhancing prestige of engineering professions among high school graduates, as well as implementation of a comprehensive program for training power engineers based on the “school-university-enterprise” principle.
