Today, within the framework of the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum a Memorandum of Construction of a large greenhouse vegetable growing complex in Sharypovsky District of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was signed. It is planned to put the Complex into operation in phases — 20 ha in 2017, 20 ha in 2018, and 20 ha in 2019. In prospect it is possible to expand the areas.
The investor is Parus Agro Group, one of the largest agro-industrial holdings of Russia. The complex will be located on the lands of Sharypovsky District near E.ON Russia Berezovskaya GRES. The power plant will supply the greenhouse complex with heat and carbon dioxide required for vegetable growing according to the preferential tariffs for major consumers. Besides, E.ON Russia will provide the investor with areas to be used thereby for location of production facilities.
The Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory will provide for the state support measures to facilitate implementing the project, as well as render assistance in solving land issues when determining the planned amount of financing the agro-industrial complex from the federal and regional budgets.
The Memorandum of Cooperation in Construction of the Greenhouse Complex was signed by the following parties: on behalf of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory — Leonid Shorokhov, Deputy Chairman of the Government and Minister of Agriculture; on behalf of the investor — Andrey Muravyov, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Parus Agro Group LLC; on behalf of E.ON Russia JSC — Maxim Shirokov, CEO of the company.
“The Krasnoyarsk Territory is fully provided with grain and potatoes due to its own production; but because of the natural climatic conditions it depends on external vegetable supplies. The share of the regional production of vegetables grown in open ground and in greenhouses is about 76%,” Leonid Shorokhov noted. “The complex will allow to satisfy the need of the Territory for vegetables by supplying about 24 thousand tons of products to the market. It is also important for us that the project implementation will involve creation of 800-900 jobs for the citizens of Sharypovo Town and Sharypovsky District.”
“Availability of the required infrastructure on site became one of the critical factors for making a decision on construction of the greenhouse complex exactly in the territory of Sharypovsky District. In the area of the future complex there are rail and motor road facilities, a water reservoir, an opportunity of water demineralization in the workshops of Berezovskaya GRES. In Siberia the electric power cost is lower than in the European part of Russia. So, despite a more continental climate, the Complex construction seems to be quite an interesting project. The factor of a low tariff for the heat supplied by the headers of Berezovskaya GRES is also important,” Andrey Muravyov noted.
“In our Company we think of measures which aim at increasing the demand for electric power in the territories adjacent to our power plants, and we consider Berezovskaya GRES as the basis for developing the economy of Sharypovsky District,” Maxim Shirokov commented on signing the Memorandum. “It is wrong when the available infrastructure is not used most efficiently. In this project E.ON Russia acts as some kind of accelerator for the business project development. Our priorities are heat power sales growth and the enhancement of electric power production efficiency due to a large share of cogeneration.”
Implementation of the greenhouse complex construction project is scheduled to commence in H1 2016. It is planned to obtain the first yield of vegetables already in December 2017.
