E.ON Russia Shaturskaya GRES summed up the results of the heating seasons 2015-2016. Officially, the heating season started on September 30 2015 and came to a close on April 27 2016. in accordance with the Resolution issued by the Head of the Shatura municipal district Andrey Keller.

From 28 to 30 April, Shaturskaya GRES specialists plan to carry out hydraulic pressure and leak tests in order to identify potential pipeline defects and eliminate them subsequently within the summer maintenance company. Currently, the power plant operates over 150 kilometres of heating pipelines in the town of Shatura. In 2015, the total length of the heating network serviced by the plant’s power engineers was extended by 11.5 kilometers of pipelines with the incorporation of Kerva Microdistrict.

No faults or system disturbances were recorded in the reporting heating period. The Shaturskaya GRES specialists have designed and approved the schedule of work to be completed at the municipal heating network in the upcoming summer season. The worn-out pipeline sections of the heating mains will be replaced with pipes pre-insulated with rigid polyurethane foams (the advanced pipe-in-pipe (PiP) technology) to reduce corrosion and heat losses, minimise operating costs and increase reliability of heat supply to consumers.

In addition to the maintenance works in Shatura, the power plant management has developed a Program for increasing efficiency and Reliability of Heating and Hot Water Piping in Kerva Microdistrict. Implementation of all activities of the Programme is scheduled for summer 2016.
