E.ON Russia Surgutskaya GRES-2, the largest heat supplier in Surgut, has successfully completed the 2015/2016 heating season.
The volume of thermal energy generated during the heating season totalled 902,555 Gcal. Heat was supplied to the local population and industry in full measure. Officially, the heating season started on September 14, 2015 and closed on May 20, 2016.
All maintenance work required as part of the preparation for the 2015/2016 heating season was performed as scheduled. The preliminary work also involved repairing the pumps of Surgutskaya GRES-2 included in the municipal heat supply network.
The plant staff who support the municipal heat supply activities ensured fail-safe operation of heat generating and network equipment, and demonstrated fault-free performance in the maintenance of pre-defined thermal and hydraulic conditions.
The scope of preparatory work for the 2016/2017 heating season at Surgutskaya GRES-2 suggests a maintenance campaign designed to ensure better operating reliability and efficiency of heat generating and network equipment and includes:
- repair of make-up water deaerators;
- repair and replacement of valves and fittings;
- repair of pumps;
- non-destructive testing and partial replacement of heat piping elements;
- repair of thermal insulation;
- flushing and cleaning of heat generating and network equipment.
Surgutskaya GRES-2 owns 5.9 km of mainline heat supply networks designed in two pipes with diameters of 800 and 1,000 mm. The plant supplies heat to Vostochny District of Surgut with the population totalling over 100,000 people.
