Valuable gifts were presented to disabled children by Sergey Rayhel, Director of Berezovskaya GRES Branch of Unipro PJSC.
Eight families with disabled children received laptops and routers. The families live in villages of the Sharypovsky District. The computers were presented during a tour to the museum of Berezovskaya GRES arranged by the Wind of Change Club that unite parents raising children with physical disabilities in the Sharypovsky District.
“For a disabled child, a computer is a tool required for social and cultural rehabilitation. They need distance learning. Via modern means of communication, a child can maintain friendly relations with others. Very often, good computer skills help a disabled person to find a job in the future. Therefore, the sooner a child begins to master computer literacy, the more opportunities they have to fulfil themselves in the future,” says Elena Mikhailova, Head of the Integrated Centre for Social Services in the Sharypovsky District. “Parents use Skype to communicate with psychologists, educators, and doctors. Besides, without leaving their home, they can make an appointment to see a doctor and use other services offered by the Ministry of Social Policy of the Krasnoyarsk Territory on its reference portal for disabled people. Therefore, we are very grateful to Unipro’s power engineers for taking part in the charity programme for the disabled titled “Sharypovsky District – the Territory of Equal Opportunities”.
Since 2013, Berezovskaya GRES Branch of Unipro PJSC has been providing regular financial assistance to rural disabled people. Since that time, 99 laptops have been purchased and handed over to people with disabilities. Furthermore, the company pays for the Social Taxi service in the Sharypovsky District. Disabled children are delivered free of charge to healthcare and rehabilitation facilities in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. An average of about 300 trips are made per year.
