Surgutskaya GRES-2 of Unipro PJSC carries out a large-scale upgrading of the instrumentation and control system for power unit No. 5 of 810 MW SPU. The need in the technical re-equipment was caused by the fact that the system installed in the last century at power unit No.5 has completely exhausted its performance potential.
Surgutskaya GRES-2 had upgraded the similar equipment at the other five power units of 810 MW SPU. Upon completion of this upgrading at Surgutskaya GRES-2, a large-scale complex project will be implemented for technical re-equipment of instrumentation and control equipment for power unit No. 5 with deployment of a full-scale automated process control system (APCS). All outdated hardware of the instrumentation and control system of Unit No. 5 are currently being disassembled. The modern hardware and software system is being installed in main control room No. 3 and in the main building.
