Technical refurbishment has been completed to the extent of construction and installation works and cold adjustment.
The branch has completed the installation of the Hard and Soft System (HSS) for a full-fledged distributed control system (DCS) comprising automated adjustment, process protection and interlocking, remote control, data collection, processing, and provision, process signaling, and other subsystems. The power engineers have replaced the sensors used to measure the power unit process parameters and cable lines (in part). The new HSS meets all current information security requirements.
Lower- and upper-level equipment of the Hard and Soft System has been installed in the premises accommodating the HSS. The Branch specialists have replaced the automatic control system of the turbine and turbo feed pumps and installed a new mechanical quantities and vibration control subsystem that covers, inter alia, the draught devices. A new electrician’s board has been installed with advanced control switches and indicating instruments.
Technical refurbishment of command and control facilities proved necessary due to the fact that the life span of the information system on Power Unit No. 5 that was installed in the last century has been totally exhausted. Previously, Surgutskaya GRES-2 upgraded similar equipment at the other five SPU-810 MW Power Units. Currently, the Branch has successfully put Power Unit No. 5 online and is preparing the DCS for commissioning works and tests during pilot operation.
