The NERT (non-professional emergency response team) of Yaivinskaya GRES Branch consists of 8 members, and has been created to address civil defence tasks when a necessity to conduct rescue operations in emergency zones arises. This time, the team underwent training in practical skills required to contain and eliminate an emergency associated with oil spill.
The training was conducted at the hydrotechnical facilities on the Yaiva River, and was supervised by the Pozhspas rescue service company. The NERT team member practiced the use of equipment for collection of oil from surface waters.
The next NERT training will be conducted in autumn as part of the Civil Defence and Emergency Response Plan approved by the Yaivinskaya GRES Branch. It will be dedicated to emergencies common for winter season.
