An air-blast load-break switch IGD-24 (integrated generator device) was replaced with a new SF6 generator switch with advanced technical parameters at power unit No. 2 SPU-810 MW of Unipro PJSC’s Surgutskaya GRES-2 branch.
The previous device disallowed switching off short-circuit currents, while the new device offers such an option. The switch installed will allow enhancing reliability of operating the generating equipment and stability of the power grid in emergency and transient states.
The new equipment was assembled in full. Start-up operations are underway, to be over by the completion of repairing unit No. 2.
Last year, similar operations were carried out at power unit No. 1 SPU-830 MW. In 2023, IGD-24 will also be replaced at unit No. 3 SPU-810 MW.
