As part of the educational project “Uniproshka for Children”, Unipro PJSC held a lesson in Smolensk Region called “Traffic Rules for Blind and Visually Impaired Children” for students of Krasninskaya Secondary Boarding School for Students with Disabilities.
The programme was developed taking into account the specifics of blind and visually impaired children, with the active participation of the staff and teachers of the boarding school.
While playing, the children learned how to navigate near the road, found out what kinds of crosswalks for the visually impaired exist, how to correctly cross the roadway, and how to act near special vehicles.
This was the first time such an event was held at the Krasninskaya School. More than sixty students attended the lessons over two days.
“Classes on the traffic rules turned out to be bright and emotional. Educational information was presented in a very exciting way with fun warm-up exercises. Our students have learned a lot. Such projects allow children with disabilities to adapt in the real world, and in particular, in the urban environment. Thanks to Unipro for your wonderful project “Uniproshka for Children”,” said Olga Overchenko, Director of Krasninskaya Secondary Boarding School for Students with Disabilities.
According to Maria Beyger, Ideological Inspirer of the Project “Uniproshka for Children” and Press Secretary of Unipro PJSC, the project has reached a new level. “We thank Olga Fedorovna Overchenko, who believed in us and our project. Visually impaired children are most at risk on the roads. We sincerely hope that the event was not only useful, but also memorable. It is very important that children learn to navigate the road when they leave home, and we will help them with that,” added Maria.
