Unipro has successfully passed the first supervisory audit of the certified environmental management system (EMS) for compliance with ISO 14001:2015 with regard to the production of electrical and thermal energy, transportation of thermal energy. The audit was conducted by a group of independent auditors of the Russian Register certification Association. The certificate is valid until December 2, 2025. This is the fourth period of Unipro EMS certification since 2013.
The supervisory audit was carried out at Shaturskaya and Yayvinskaya GRES, as well as at the Moscow representative office of Unipro PJSC. The auditors analyzed the work of the subdivisions of the power plants and Moscow representative office of Unipro in the following areas:
- compliance with the requirements of the environmental protection legislation of the Russian Federation;
- consideration of the organization’s business context (environmental protection);
- assessment of environmental risks and development of these risks management program;
- management commitment and review by management;
- quality of internal environmental protection audits and corrective actions taken;
- handling of claims, complaints, instructions of regulatory authorities;
- planning and achievement of environmental protection goals, their relevance.
The auditors noted that the environmental management system implemented at Unipro is maintained in operation, aimed at reducing environmental impact of production and continuously improved.
